About us

Tap Lighting started as a small family tradition, long before we ever thought about websites and online shops. Our story goes back to my grandfather, Giovanni, who grew up in Italy with a love for design and craftsmanship. When he later moved to Amsterdam, he brought that same passion for light and form with him.

For years, it was just my grandfather and my father Manuel, building lamps by hand and taking them to markets in Amsterdam and London. We didn’t have fancy stands  just a table, some warm lights, and countless conversations with people who fell in love with our designs. Those moments, seeing customers smile when they found the lamp for their home, are what kept us going.

Today, I’ve joined my father in the workshop. Together, we’re continuing what my grandfather started  keeping the craft alive while bringing it to a wider audience. We still design and build every lamp with the same care, but now you don’t have to find us at a market stall. Tap Lighting is our way of sharing that tradition online, while staying true to the warmth and artistry that got us here.
